{Doing the Polka}

Even though I haven't been doing much sewing, I am IN LOVE with these polka dot fabrics and I pretty much think I need to add every single one to the stash that I am not using. They are, after all, ideal for LOOKING at. :)

These are all Ta Dot fabrics by Michael Miller and you can find them all at Fat Quarter Shop.

I'm on my way to buy some. When I do get back into sewing, it WOULD be fun to do a quilt of all polka dot fabrics. I better get started shopping!

{Our Newest Addition}

This little guy is named Jack. Well,.... that's the name he came with, but we were thinking we kind of like Bruiser. Jack seems like it's kind of sticking though and it's REAL fun,.... Jack 2000, Jack Sparrow, Jackie Chan, Jack Daniels, Jack in the Box, Jackie Brown, Jack McFarland,....., so we really aren't sure about the name yet. Any opinions??? Jack?? Bruiser??

He is a full Miniature Pinscher and weighs about 10ish pounds. He's SUPER spunky, curious and a bit sneaky. He is getting along fine with our zoo of a household, however he is the last animal baby for a very, very long time. I wouldn't mind maybe a little less furry baby,... maybe of the human kind :)

{Firefly Lane}

I just finished Firefly Lane by Kristin Hannah last week,....... SO. GOOD. I definitely recommend it 100%. Here is the thing, it's a very emotional book, so if you are super sensitive or a big crier and can't handle it, this is not the book for you! You will be moved to tears, and not just because parts are sad.

I also recently read Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen which was also excellent. And here is a treat for any Twilight/New Moon movie lovers,..... you might want to read this one because Robert Pattinson is supposed to play the lead role in the Water For Elephants movie in 2011!!! (I always prefer to read the book before seeing the movie)

I am feeling great today! It's 6pm and it's SUNNY!!! My husband and I are about to take the pup out for a walk and snap some pictures.

{Back To Texas}

This is Jocelyn. She's my niece and my God Daughter and she is BEAUTIFUL! Can you even stand those eyes & looooong lashes!?!?!? She will be one this month, time goes so fast!

Look at that squishy face and chubby little fingers! Love her!

I took another short trip home to Texas last weekend for a little visit and a wedding. As usual, it was a whirlwind,... flew in late Wednesday night, hung out with my brother Thu and delivered wedding jewels for Jacqueline's big day. Friday I spent out with Dad & my brother, shopping and eating, and Phantom of the Opera with Mom & SIL that night. Saturday, got my hair cut in the AM, spent the day with some tiny people playing and having photo shoots (above) during the day. That night was the wedding and out for drinks with friends, stayed at the W in Dallas. Sunday, had lunch with some old friends, shopped a little, and met with my brother and his fam for dinner. I was EXHAUSTED after this trip!! But it was oh so fun, I just wish there were more hours in a day.
