In honor of my magazine debut, and rolling in the new year, I have decided to host my very first GIVEAWAY!!! I appreciate all your beautiful comments, I read every single one. I can't tell you how silly excited I get when I get an email telling me someone commented on my blog. I keep thinking that I am probably the only person that really even looks at my blog (pretty pathetic right?? I look at my own blog???) Its exciting that I have readers and I am thankful for all of you.
This is the sweet little Claire Box. I was reading The Time Travelers Wife when I finished this box, hence the name. Miss Claire is 7 3/4" in diameter and 4" in height. The box was painted white, decoupaged with coordinating paper squares and embellished with ribbon, feathers, paper flowers and rhinestones.
I almost ALWAYS make one of these to give a baby gift in. I like to think that the child will have sweet little treasures in one of my boxes on a shelf in their nursery. I have also used them for Christmas gifts and sometimes I use them AS the gift. You could just put it right on your own shelf and keep whatever you like in it.
Oh Heck,... I'm going to include a copy of Romantic Homes,... its a sweet little magazine, you probably want to win this one! ;)
SO,... let me know how many readers I actually do have! To enter to win the Claire Box, leave me a comment, just tell me something fun that will make me laugh. Become a follower and leave another comment letting me know that you are following and I will put your name in twice! I am going to leave the comments open until January 5th, announcing the winner of Miss Claire, Wednesday, January 6th. OH.... don't forget to leave an email address, blog address, some way to contact you when you win! I'm really sorry to my international readers, but right now I can only ship to the United States, Canada and Mexico. I love you though,... I am working on the best International shipping,... please don't hate me.
Good Luck!!!
I'm first! Love your blog! Happy 2010 to you!
ReplyDeleteHey there, Dodt!
ReplyDeleteI love looking at your blog and seeing all of the cool stuff you make. Your box is lovely :) And I hope you have agreat New Years Eve (perhaps you will dance the Cupid Shuffle...).
Hello lovely lady! I also follow along to see what you're making next and to see what the Maryland Lathroums are into. I was a little bit hoping you'd draw my name in the exchange - oh well, there's always next year! As much as I love Miss Claire, I don't think one more thing will fit in this tiny house until the addition is done, so don't put my name in the drawing please. But I do want to know how you got started making these lovelies. - Holli
ReplyDeleteLove the comment about the cupid shuffle...just make sure you are facing the correct way this time. And don't forget the "real" words to the song! Good luck with your giveaway and Happy New Year to both you and Tom!!!

Yippee and congratulations on making the print!! Something funny to tell?? Make you laugh? Well how about my idea of a special way to ring in the New Year was to savor the pages of Feb 2010 Romantic Homes, in a quaint pink bedroom in pink P.J's, smelling of Cherry Blossoms bath products and feeling like a lazy daisy queen? Not to funny but neither am I!!LOL Great site! Lori
ReplyDeleteHI there! I just became a follower. Actually, I saw your little blurb in this months Romantic Homes and so I visited your blog and I am so glad that I did! The only funny thing that happened recently was that I spent New Years Eve in a hot bubble bath, watching Julie and Julia, and reading a magazine! I love the box and hope I am a winner!
ReplyDeleteMy word, you should have a lot more comments than this! I became a follower after the SMS giveaway and this is such a beautiful place. I just redecorated our Spare Room (one day to be my daughter's room when I am forced to give up my sewing space) in orange and pink and blue, so I would LOVE to win this! Something humorous...everything I think of has to do with my kids, and realistically I'm probably the only one who even thinks they are funny. :) Four year-old son playing his new harmonica (thanks, Aunt Jax!) until I want to throw it out the window, only to realize that the one year-old is laughing his head off. First thing that's made this sick baby smile in days! Worth the headache!! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteHi! Your blog is beautiful... as is the giveaway! I used to have a subscription to Romantic Homes via my MIL, but have since moved and they never responded to my correct address (and it has been a couple years) but love the magazine. Something funny... just now while playing a game, the kids had to pretend to eat ice cream, and my 3 year old son grabbed my 2 year olds doll and pretended to lick it's head! It was funny to me! Hope it got a smile at least!
ReplyDeleteI am following your blog now too!
ReplyDeleteBrite, my friend (see above comment) told me about your blog....really lovely. I look forward to being inspired by you! My Mom subscribs to Romantic Homes so I'm going to look at your article when I'm at her house on Sunday :o)
ReplyDeleteGood job! Very beautiful round cardboard gift boxes!
